BECOME A SPONSOR

There are three primary programs that KY Kids Eat supports to help feed children throughout the year. The School Breakfast Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Summer Food Service Program. The Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Summer Food Service Program are ran by sponsors throughout the state to ensure Kentucky children are getting nutritious food 365 days a year.

CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM

Also known as at-risk afterschool meals, CACFP reimburses sites that provide meals to children and teenagers in constructive environments that are safe, fun, and filled with opportunities for learning in low-income areas.

  • Manages after-school meal site(s) that serve to children 18 and under

  • Funded by the USDA (Reimbursement Rates)

  • Administered by the Kentucky Department of Education

  • Required to offer educational or enrichment activities, after the regular school day ends or on week-ends and holidays, during times of the year when school is in session.

SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM

Also known as the Summer Meals Program, SFSP reimburses providers who serve free healthy meals to children and teens in low-income areas during the summer months when school is not in session.

  • Manages summer meal site(s) that serve to children 18 and under

  • Funded by the USDA (Reimbursement Rates)

  • Administered by the Kentucky Department of Education

  • Encouraged to offer educational or enrichment activities ate sites while summer meals are being served.
