K-VIP is a win-win for Kentucky because it feeds our hungry children and expands market opportunities for local farmers. K-VIP funding is available for summer food service program sponsors that purchase produce directly from Kentucky farmers.

K-VIP increases access for Kentucky students to locally-sourced fruit and vegetables after school and during the summer. K-VIP is funded by the Kentucky Agriculture Development Board and administered by The Kentucky Association of Food Banks with support from the Kentucky Department of Education and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

K-VIP covers half the cost of Kentucky-grown produce purchased directly from Kentucky farmers. Summer feeding and after school meal programs recognized by the Kentucky Department of Education are eligible for K-VIP funding.
